Monday: Today I pitched my idea to the seminar group. I explained the concept of “technostalgia” and my intentions to study our generation and our nostalgic tendencies in a world of rapid technological change. The group offered me feedback and further developed this idea by suggesting that having something tangible in a digital environment is reassuring and secure. I dwelled on this behaviour further and how consumerism could fit in. Buying physical products gives material value to show for your exchange and with songs, movies and books becoming more prevalent online this is an interesting angle to take.
